Mountains
Perfection: Wouldn't change a thing, even if I could.
The Basin: Lake Basin high in Kings Canyon National Park putting on an incredibly impressive light show in between storms. The monsoons of the Southwest have started to move into The Sierra as part of climate change, providing opportunities that didn't exist before for photographic subjects outside of sunset or sunrise.
Blue Lake Sunset Show: We had arrived to the most remote area of the Sierra and our usual cloudless skies were replaced with continuous display of types of clouds. Culminating in the insanely sunset glow.
What Remains: Glacier National Park used to have about 80 glaciers. Now it is down to 26 with that shrinking annually. While no one will commit to saying that someday Glacier National Park will not have any glaciers, the consensus is the day will be sooner than anyone will hope.
Taking our Medicine: The Western side of Glacier receives the majority of the visitors. But also the Eastern side you will still find the beauty and wonder like Mount Sinopah from Two Medicine Lake.
Icons: Hiking in the Bugaboos with the mountains of your dreams and no where to be.
Chasing a Dream: Certain things you want to experience in life more than others. For me, being in Yosemite after a big storm was one of them. Previous trips were foiled by rain and warmer temperatures. But not this time! Truly it felt like a winter wonderland.
Guanaco: Standing above Ushuaia, Argentina is the captivating Guanaco peak. Not a scene you can absorb unless across the bay or in this case, on a boat within Tierra Del Fuego. Guanaco is a term associated the the 4 hoofed animal but its actual roots are in the Spanish words for silly, simple, and rustic.
Absorb: I don't usually need to remind myself to breathe, but I did seem to need to remind myself to stop and absorb. Angular lines forming dramatic pinnacles, hanging onto their snow and absorbing the light of the day.
Dreamcatcher: No other mountain in the world has captured as many dreams as Mt Everest. Standing at 29,000+ feet it actual ascends into the jetstream and often times will have the clouds trailing off the top. It is a massive peak that can't even hold snow on its South Facing slopes.
Peace: A calm meadow. A snow covered view. A towering mountain. A slice of silence on a cold Canadian morning.

Dawson: From the top of Dawson path in the backcountry of Glacier National Park you can see the majesty and wonder that makes Glacier such a unique part of our national parks.

A Lake So Blue: The long slog over the Minarets rewarded is with this surreal alpine lake and picturesque clouds among the high mountain beauty.
Tiny Worlds: The Canadian Rockies remain a favorite place of mine for obvious reasons, but also for less obvious ones. Using the distortion effect of my wide angle lens, I was able to amplify a water puddle as it froze and bring forth a new way of looking at this amazing world.

The Mountain of The People: Literally translated from Spanish as the Mountain of the People. Volcan Licancabur straddles the border between Bolivia and Chile. A visual force that serves as a guidepost or anchor from almost anywhere in the Atacama Desert.
Rise and Shine: Catching First Light Snowmass Mountain in the Maroon Bells Wilderness area in between Snowmass Village and Aspen
Final Burst Snowmass Lake: Final sunlight burst at Snowmass Lake on the 4 passes loop in Colorado.
Sundance Pass: In the Beartooth Mountains you will find the incredible Sundance Pass.
